In Autumn the climate gets cooler and a few rain showers awaken nature from its summer rest. Some flowers are flowering in autumn as e.g. Borago, Linaria and Smilax. The small flowers of Smilax aspera with its later firstly green, then red and finally black getting berries can be seen on the Macchia trails.

One very spectacular walking trip is the one to Capo Fonza “360° liberty.” From there you can enjoy the full panorama of: Marina di Campo, Lacona, Capo Stella, Porto Azzurro, Procchio and the other Islands Montecristo, Pianosa and on clear days also the Islands Giglio, Capraia and Corsika.
